YEREVAN IS ONE OF THE MOST POPULAR HOLIDAY DESTINATIONS

In 2015 the CIS countries were very popular among Russian tourists as holiday destinations. Among the most popular cities was Yerevan which ranked in the TOP-5 most popular cities favored by Russian travelers.

In addition to Armenia, Russian tourists also opted to spend their summer holidays in Georgia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova and Uzbekistan.

The number of trips to Armenia tripled compared to previous years. On average, tourists come for the duration of four days to explore the country, and for nine days to enjoy the health resorts.
Among the cheapest destinations is the city of Bishkek, where tourists spend an average of 1,200 rubles per day for hotel accommodation. The most expensive were Baku (over 6,000 rubles), Minsk (3,000 rubles), Tbilisi (3,200 rubles per day) and Yerevan (3,100 rubles per day).
