Haghartsin – Sanahin

Haghartsin monastery is a monument of the medieval architecture, and its construction dates back to the 10-13th centuries. The area, where the monastery is located, is quite different for the most of Armenian monasteries. Tavush region is a wooded area, and Dilijan is situated nearby.

After its initial construction the monastery complex was extended several times. Here tourists will find several churches and a number of other buildings, which all are monuments of Armenian religious architecture.

Natural sceneries here are absolutely breathtaking. One major attraction of Haghartsin is an old oak that is almost as old as the monastery itself. Fresh air and deep forests will make your trip a total relaxation. And it is always so enjoyable to immerse into such a magic atmosphere.

Our final destination on this tour will be another monastery and UNESCO World Heritage Site – Sanahin. This beautiful church and monastery complex are located in Armenia’s Lori Province. The atmosphere of this place vividly demonstrates visitors the age of this religious object. You will see darkened roofs, building constructed of large stones and medieval graves.
